Experienced Pet Grooming Salon Lead

• PetSmart About the Role PetSmart is seeking an experienced pet grooming professional with strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills to lead daily salon operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines professional pet grooming with overseeing salon workflow, supporting employees, and delivering an excellent experience for pets and their families. The ideal candidate can confidently handle pets, coach a team, resolve customer concerns, and keep a busy grooming salon running safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily salon operations: Coordinate appointments, grooming schedules, and team workload to support safe, timely, high-quality services.

Lead and support employees:

Set clear expectations, provide daily direction, coach grooming and customer service skills, and address team concerns professionally.

Deliver professional grooming services:

Perform bathing, haircuts, brushing, nail trimming, and other services appropriate to each pet's needs and temperament.

Manage customer relationships:

Conduct service consultations, explain grooming recommendations and pricing, communicate updates, and resolve complaints with professionalism and care.

Maintain pet safety:

Follow PetSmart's pet care and safety procedures, recognize signs of stress or potential health concerns, and promptly escalate incidents.

Support salon performance:

Encourage appropriate service recommendations, appointment rebooking, customer retention, and consistent service quality.

Maintain salon standards:

Ensure workstations, equipment, and shared spaces remain clean, organized, and properly maintained.

Partner with store leadership:

Communicate staffing needs, operational challenges, customer concerns, and employee performance issues; support training and follow-up. Qualifications Professional pet grooming experience, including confidently completing haircuts and safely handling dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Previous experience leading, supervising, or coaching employees. Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations calmly and professionally. Ability to organize appointments, prioritize work, and guide a team in a fast-paced environment. Clear communication, sound judgment, and a consistent commitment to pet safety. Willingness to work a schedule that meets salon needs, including weekends and evenings. Who We're Looking For A dependable, experienced groomer who takes ownership of salon operations, builds a supportive and accountable team, and helps every pet parent feel confident in the care their pet receives. Compensation This position offers a guaranteed hourly rate with the opportunity for significantly higher earnings based on grooming production. As an experienced groomer, you can earn up to 60% of your grooming service sales, allowing high-performing groomers to earn well above their base hourly rate. Your earning potential increases based on the amount of grooming services you personally perform, making this a great opportunity for an experienced groomer who wants to combine leadership responsibilities with strong income potential.

Compensation includes:

• Guaranteed hourly base pay
• Grooming earning potential of up to 60% of personal grooming service sales
• Increased earning potential based on grooming productivity
