Job Description

Halo Hounds is seeking a dedicated and energetic House and Pet Sitter to provide exceptional care for homes and animals while owners are away. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a variety of pets, ensuring their safety, comfort, and happiness. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the household, administering pet care routines, and providing peace of mind to pet owners through reliable and attentive service. Responsibilities Feed, water, and administer medication to pets according to owner instructions Engage in dog walking, pet exercise, and outdoor activities to promote physical health and mental stimulation Monitor animal behavior and perform animal handling or restraint as needed for safety or grooming Provide overnight in-home care, including sleeping arrangements and regular check-ins Maintain cleanliness of pet living areas, including grooming and basic hygiene tasks Communicate regularly with clients about pet well-being, household updates, and any concerns Perform light household duties such as plant watering or mail collection to ensure the home remains secure and maintained Experience Prior experience with pet sitting or animal care in a professional setting Knowledge of dog training techniques and understanding of animal behavior patterns Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable Experience handling various animals including dogs, cats, and horses (equine experience preferred) Familiarity with animal restraint techniques, pet grooming, kennel management, and heavy lifting when necessary Outdoor work experience involving pet exercise routines or yard supervision Strong client communication skills to build trust and ensure clear expectations are met Join us if you're passionate about animal care, enjoy active outdoor work, and thrive in a role that combines responsibility with the joy of working with pets.
