About us Business established in 1993, located in the country, provides the best care for our pets staying with us. Flexible hours, Part-Time. Hiring for morning and/or night shifts and weekend shifts. Hourly wage will depend on experience.
Work Remotely No Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The Kennel Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of animals housed in the facility. This role involves feeding, grooming, cleaning, and providing general care to the animals, as well as assisting with daily operational tasks. Shift hours 6-11 am and 2-7 pm Monday thru Sunday. Required to work 2 weekends per month. Morning hours convenient for those stay at home moms or dads.
Key Responsibilities:
Animal Care:
Feed, water, and provide medications to animals according to established schedules. Clean and disinfect animal living spaces Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report concerns to management. Provide basic grooming (bathing, brushing) and exercise to animals as needed.
Customer Interaction:
Greet and assist clients upon arrival, answering questions regarding kennel services and policies. Maintain accurate records of animal check-in and check-out times, special requests, and care instructions.
Facility Maintenance:
Ensure that all kennel areas are kept clean, safe, and sanitary. Assist with laundry duties (e.g., cleaning towels, bedding, etc.). Dispose of waste properly and maintain cleanliness in the facility.
Team Collaboration:
Work alongside other kennel staff to ensure the smooth operation of daily tasks. Assist with any special projects or initiatives as needed by management.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Previous experience working with animals (in a kennel, veterinary clinic, pet store, or similar setting) is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
Genuine love and care for animals. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, bending, cleaning). Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including outdoor tasks. Ability to stand for long periods.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced and hands-on environment. Requires working weekends and holidays.
