Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Groomer Trainee - Bather, where you will embark on an exciting journey into the world of pet grooming and animal care. This paid internship offers a hands-on opportunity to develop essential skills in pet handling, grooming, and animal restraint while working alongside experienced professionals. Your role will focus on preparing animals for grooming services, ensuring their comfort and safety, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners. Responsibilities Assist with pet bathing, drying, and coat styling under supervision to ensure high-quality grooming standards. Handle animals with care, using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Support groomers by preparing grooming tools and cleaning work areas to maintain a hygienic environment. Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs, grooming preferences, and after-care instructions. Learn and apply basic dog training and animal handling skills to improve pet comfort during grooming sessions. Assist with pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other basic grooming tasks as directed by senior staff. Support kennel cleaning, pet sitting, and general animal care duties as needed to promote overall well-being. Qualifications Genuine love for animals with an eagerness to learn about pet grooming and care techniques. Prior experience or familiarity with dog handling, veterinary settings, or animal care is a plus. Strong communication skills for interacting confidently with pet owners and team members. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods. Basic knowledge of pet coat styling, animal restraint, and pet nail trimming is advantageous but not required—training will be provided. Experience in veterinary technician or assistant roles, equine experience, or kennel work is beneficial but not mandatory.
