Job Description

Canine Care Specialist primary role is to ensure safe play and all guests receive the highest standards of canine care. This includes meeting their basic needs for food, water, sanitary conditions, play time activity and business walks. Our CCSs are responsible for treating all guests like family and ensuring that they all get lots of play, socialization, love, affection, attention and interaction. One of the most important responsibilities of the position is maintaining and facilitating safe and fun play for groups of off leash dogs. Another important aspect of this position is maintaining a pristine, germ free facility in order to ensure the dogs health and safety is a priority, this means daily cleaning is also a big component of the position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Making certain that each dog's basic needs for food, water, elimination, exercise, play and socialization are met-whether they are in group play or 1 on 1. 2. Following proper dog handling techniques and ensuring the safe handling of dogs at all times 3. Treating guests at all times with love and compassion and never mistreating in any way any of the dogs entrusted to our care 4. They answer to their lead and work together to complete the checklist. Leads answer to assistant manager. 5. Ensuring the cleanliness of the facility for the health and safety of the dogs. 6. Monitoring the health and wellbeing of each and every dog and promptly bringing any health concerns to your lead or management. o This includes their eating, elimination, energy level, and any injuries. 7. Showing up on time or 5 mins early for each shift ready to work. 8. Getting any scheduled shifts covered by another team member ahead of time if you have an emergency or are out of town. 9. Properly checking in and out daycare clients, ensuring they all go home happy, healthy, and clean. 10. All cleaning is done fully and properly (the way you were trained). o Cleaning of feces from outside dog parks before you move your group o Cleaning all accidents in rooms and play areas immediately o Cleaning rooms, indoor, and both floors of the hotel completely and properly 11. Fully learning OPCLC curriculum and using it day in and out 12. All cellphones are put in the box or left in your car during your shift. 13. Marinating a safe energy level during play group 14. Always have a walkie talkie on you at all time during your shift. 15. Having fun and enjoying how great a job it can be to get paid to play with dogs for a significant part of your work day. 16. Discovering any injuries, illness or signs of stress as early as possible and reporting it to management
ASAP Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • An absolute love and passion for dogs
  • Reliable and flexible to Resort schedule needs including weekends and holidays as these are our busiest times.
  • Experience in a boarding/day camp setting is preferable, but not required
Skills Required:
  • Ability to follow a daily schedule and focus on completing all assigned tasks
  • Adhering to all safety and sanitary procedures and following them to the letter
  • Confident, positive leadership of multiple dogs
  • An eye for proactively spotting potential health or safety concerns
  • Hard working
  • Reliable and on time or early
  • Able to handle a physically demanding job where you are constantly on your feet and able to life 50lbs
  • Excellent customer service
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
