Feed Staff for Horse Farm in Simpsonville

Job Description

Horse Care & Feeding - Simpsonville, KY We are seeking a dependable, experienced horse person to assist with the daily care of approximately 41 horses and routine barn operations. This is a hands-on position focused on feeding, watering, turnout, horse health checks and maintaining consistent daily care . The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently around horses and understands the importance of routine, safety, and attentive horse care.
Schedule & Compensation Available Shifts:
Monday -Sunday - Weekends preferred
Morning:
6:30 AM-10:30
AM Evening:
4:00 PM-7:30
PM Starting Pay:
$16.00/hour
Position:
Independent Contractor (1099) Primary Responsibilities Feed horses according to established schedules Prepare grain and supplements for upcoming shifts Monitor feed intake and report changes in appetite or behavior Check, clean, and refill water sources Turn horses out and bring them in as scheduled Observe horses for signs of illness, injury, lameness, colic, or other concerns Report health or behavioral changes promptly Maintain a safe, clean, and organized barn Complete assigned side duties and assist with daily barn operations Required Qualifications 2-5 years of recent, hands-on horse handling and care experience This position is not suitable for applicants without recent, hands-on horse experience. Comfortable handling horses confidently on the ground and working around large herds Knowledge of basic feeding and daily horse care Able to recognize common health concerns, including colic, lameness, injury, and illness Reliable, organized, safety-focused, and attentive to detail Reliable transportation Minimum age of 18 Preferred Experience Experience caring for multiple horses in a boarding, lesson, training, breeding, rescue, or farm setting is preferred. Familiarity with supplements, turnout schedules, herd management, equine nutrition, and monitoring overall horse condition is a plus. To Apply Please email rfrcemployment@gmail.
