Nature Loving Dog Hiker Job Summary:

Do you love the sound of crunching leaves in the fall, the silence of the forest after a snow storm , the smell of warm pine needles in the summer and watching a pack of amazing dogs running free thru a wide open field? If so, this job might be for you!! We are seeking a passionate Dog Hiker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for all dogs, and enjoy spending time outdoors year-round in all weather exploring nature with furry companions. We hike on private land and off-leash reservations and the dogs get to run, swim, sniff and play for a 2 hour hike each morning. The hikes range from 3-5 miles depending on the season.

Responsibilities:

• Pick up your pack of 4-5 dogs, hike and then return the dogs to their homes. You will need to rinse and dry the dogs when needed. The dogs get dirty and chances are you will too. :)
• Lead group hikes with off-leash dogs in various natural environments while ensuring their safety and well-being. Take photos and videos of all the fun.
• Utilize knowledge of dog behavior to enhance the hiking experience for you and the dogs. The dogs look to you as the pack leader so need the confidence to lead them.
• Communicate effectively with us and dog owners after the hike with pictures, videos, a GPS map and a short recap of each hike
• Effectively use our technology to track your time, mileage and clients info We are looking for someone who :
• Loves being in the woods and enjoys nature year round
• Has experience hiking with their own dog
• this is a big plus and your dog can join you if they meet all hiker requirements
• Can handle various breeds and temperaments of the dogs during hikes and in the car
• Has an understanding of training principles to ensure a positive hiking experience
• Is professional, responsible and dependable
• Gets joy from helping dogs live their best lives
• Will provide not only an amazing hike for the dogs but also lots of affection and love, the dogs and their families are very special to us
• Is physically able to hike between 3-5 miles in all weather and terrain, and be able to lift a large dog if needed
• Has a vehicle that can comfortably hold 5 (sometimes ) dirty dogs, we will provide seat covers and towels
• Has availability 3-5 mornings/ week from 9-1pm (must be available Tuesday and Thursday) Join our team and embark on exciting outdoor adventures while making a positive impact on the lives of our canine companions and their famalies.

If you are enthusiastic about nature, love dogs, and possess the necessary skills to excel in this role, we encourage you to apply. We are looking for at least a 1 yr commitment and this a W-2 position. It is preferred that you live with 20 miles of Needham.
