Ruff n' Tumble Playcare is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and energetic Dog Daycare / Playcare Attendant to join our team. Working at a dog daycare can be incredibly rewarding—and a lot of fun—but let's get one thing out of the way: this is not a job where you spend the day sitting around playing with puppies. It's active, loud, messy, physical, and fast-paced. Keeping our dogs safe, happy, and well cared for takes hard work, good judgment, and a great team. Before You Apply Please make sure you meet these basic requirements: Minimum 1 year of professional, hands-on dog-care experience. Availability Monday through Friday , including morning and afternoon shifts. Availability to work every other Saturday. Valid driver's license and your own dependable transportation. Ability to perform a physically active job and safely handle dogs of varying sizes Experience We're Looking For Preferred experience includes working in a: Dog daycare Boarding facility Veterinary setting Professional dog bathing/grooming experience may also be considered , particularly if your position involved regular hands-on dog handling, restraint, bathing, and nail trims. Shelter/rescue experience may qualify if your role involved regular hands-on responsibility for dog handling, behavior, safety, or daily care. Dog walking, pet sitting, Rover, Wag, similar app-based services, personal pet ownership, or casual shelter/rescue volunteering do not meet our experience requirement. What You'll Do Supervise dog playgroups and maintain safe, appropriate play Monitor dog behavior and intervene when necessary Provide daily care, feeding, rest periods, and enrichment activities Clean and sanitize playrooms, kennels, yards, and common areas Assist with baths, nail trims, and other basic care as needed Communicate with coworkers about dog behavior, health, and safety concerns Interact professionally and confidently with clients Jump in and help wherever needed to keep the day running safely and smoothly Cleaning is a big part of this job. If you don't like getting dirty, picking up poop, or cleaning up after dogs, this probably isn't the position for you! Who We're Looking For We need someone who: Is reliable, punctual, and ready to work at the beginning of their scheduled shift Is comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities Can stay calm and make good decisions in a busy environment Takes initiative and notices what needs to be done Can work independently without constant direction Works well as part of a team and jumps in when coworkers need help Can receive direct instruction, correction, and constructive feedback Communicates professionally with coworkers and clients Can adapt when priorities change—which happens frequently when working with dogs! This Is a Physical Job! You will be on your feet and moving for most of your shift. You must be able to safely stand and walk for extended periods; bend, squat, twist, push, pull, and lift; handle and control dogs of varying sizes and weights; and work both indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions. Schedule & Hours — Please Read Carefully This position is 32+ hours per week , with most regular weeks typically averaging 36-40 hours . However, 40 hours per week are not guaranteed. Our staffing needs are based on the number of dogs in our care. Hours may be reduced during slower periods, holiday weeks, weather-related closures, or other changes in business levels. Applicants must have flexibility to work both morning and afternoon shifts Monday through Friday, as well as every other Saturday. Dependable attendance is essential. Frequent call-outs, lateness, or ongoing schedule restrictions are not compatible with this position. Transportation You must have a valid driver's license and your own dependable transportation to and from work. Relying on rides from friends or family, or rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft , as your primary means of getting to work does not meet this requirement. Still With Us? Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
