Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Enrichment Specialist - Dog Handler to join our dynamic pet care team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional enrichment activities and animal care to ensure our canine residents are happy, healthy, and engaged. Your enthusiasm for animals, combined with your ability to handle dogs confidently and compassionately, will help create a safe and stimulating environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with dogs of all breeds and temperaments, promoting their well-being through engaging activities and attentive care. Duties Develop and implement engaging enrichment programs tailored to individual dog needs, including mental stimulation, physical activity, and socialization. Safely handle dogs during playtime, training sessions, and daily routines, utilizing animal handling and restraint techniques. Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and daily care routines to ensure each dog's comfort and safety. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of pet care facilities through regular cleaning, sanitization, and kennel maintenance to promote a healthy environment. Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or discomfort, adjusting activities as needed to ensure positive experiences. Support team lifting and outdoor work tasks that involve moving supplies or assisting with outdoor play areas. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their dogs' activities and well-being. Shifts are either 6am-1pm or 12:30pm-7:30pm (7 days a week) Experience Prior dog handling experience is highly desirable for understanding animal health needs. Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or kennel work demonstrates your ability to manage multiple dogs safely and effectively. Background in veterinary assisting or animal care roles provides a strong foundation in handling animals responsibly. Familiarity with pet grooming, animal behavior assessment, and pet boarding operations enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive care. Outdoor work experience is beneficial for managing outdoor play areas and ensuring safety during outdoor activities. Skills in animal restraint, pet care facility sanitization, and customer service are essential for maintaining high standards of safety and client satisfaction. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for supplies or equipment handling supports efficient daily operations.
