Job Description

Job Overview Position:
Full-Time or Part-Time Do you have a passion for animals? Do you love seeing deserving companions find their forever homes? Because Four Footed Friends is looking for a compassionate, dependable Dog Handler to join our team and help provide stellar daily care for our beloved dogs in our care! Responsibilities Safely handle, walk, exercise, and socialize dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Feed and provide fresh water for shelter dogs, following individual dietary needs Clean and disinfect kennels, play areas, and equipment. Provide enrichment and positive interaction to help keep dogs happy and comfortable. Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, or overall health and report concerns to appropriate staff. Use safe, humane, and positive handling techniques. Assist with bathing, grooming, and other basic care as needed. Help introduce dogs to potential adopters and provide information about their personalities and needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the animals. Work cooperatively with other staff and volunteers. Perform additional shelter duties as needed. Qualifications Previous experience working with dogs is highly preferred but not required. Must be comfortable handling dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Reliable, patient, compassionate, and willing to learn. Able to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, cleaning, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Must be willing to work around barking, cleaning products, animal odors, and other normal shelter conditions. A genuine passion for animal welfare is essential. This role is vital in ensuring the health, safety, and happiness of our shelter animals while fostering positive community relationships. Pay:
$10.00 - $12.50 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 35.0 per week
