The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive animal behavioral training, including obedience training for pets and pet behavioral modification. This role involves working closely with dogs and their owners to foster well-behaved, balanced, and happy pets through effective training techniques. The Dog Trainer will play a vital role in enhancing the bond between pets and their owners by promoting positive behaviors and addressing behavioral challenges. Responsibilities Conduct dog training sessions focused on obedience, behavioral modification, and socialization to ensure dogs develop good manners and respond reliably to commands. Must travel to clients' homes so mobile position. Must be able to accommodate 1-2 dogs in your own home for board and train programs. Implement animal behavioral training programs tailored to individual dogs' needs, age, temperament, and owner goals. Educate pet owners on training techniques, behavior management, and reinforcement strategies to support ongoing development at home. Assess each dog's behavior to identify issues requiring intervention and develop customized training plans accordingly. Monitor progress throughout the training process, adjusting methods as needed to achieve desired results. Maintain a safe, positive, and professional environment during all training activities. Keep detailed records of training sessions, progress notes, and behavioral observations for each dog. Skills Proven experience in dog training, animal behavioral training, and obedience training for pets. Strong understanding of pet behavioral modification techniques and positive reinforcement methods. Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct pet owners and collaborate with team members. Reliable transportation. Ability to assess canine behavior accurately and develop appropriate training strategies. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with animals. Ability to manage multiple clients and adapt training approaches to individual needs.
