Kennel Technician — Silver Spur K9 Academy Position Overview Monday-Friday 10:00AM -7:00PM Silver Spur K9 Academy is looking for a reliable, attentive, and hardworking Kennel Technician to help maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment for the dogs in our Board & Train program. The Kennel Technician is responsible for the day-to-day care of the dogs, maintaining the crate room, keeping dogs on schedule, and ensuring every dog receives proper food, water, potty breaks, enrichment, and a clean living space. Key Responsibilities Daily Dog Care Provide fresh water and monitor hydration throughout the day. Feed breakfast, lunch, and dinner on schedule and according to each dog's individual feeding instructions. Provide timely potty breaks and maintain each dog's bathroom schedule. Monitor dogs throughout the day for changes in behavior, appetite, bathroom habits, or overall wellbeing. Immediately report any concerns, injuries, illness, unusual behavior, or changes in eating/drinking habits to management. Crate Room Management Take ownership of keeping the crate room clean, organized, safe, and sanitary at all times. Check crates regularly for spilled food, water, accidents, or other messes. Clean and sanitize kennels/crates as needed throughout the day. Ensure each dog has a clean, comfortable space. Maintain an organized crate room and keep supplies properly stocked. Enrichment & Crate Training Provide appropriate supervised enrichment activities based on each dog's needs and program. Practice and reinforce crate games and positive crate habits. Rotate toys and enrichment items to keep dogs mentally engaged. Supervise dogs during enrichment to ensure safe interaction with toys and activities. Follow each dog's individual instructions regarding enrichment, play, and downtime. Cleaning & Sanitation Thoroughly clean kennels and surrounding areas throughout the day. Wash and sanitize food and water bowls daily and provide clean bowls each day. Wash and sanitize toys and crate mats daily. Clean up spilled food, water, hair, dirt, and other messes promptly. Complete general cleaning of the crate room and dog areas. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the property. Following Schedules & Instructions Follow each dog's individual feeding, potty, medication, enrichment, and care instructions. Stay on schedule and complete required tasks in a timely manner. Communicate with the trainer and management regarding the dogs' daily routines and any concerns. Keep accurate records and complete daily care checklists when required. Ensure all dogs receive consistent care according to Silver Spur K9 Academy's standards. What We're Looking For Reliable and punctual. Comfortable working around multiple dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments. Strong attention to detail. Able to follow schedules and instructions consistently. Comfortable with cleaning and physical work. Patient, calm, and gentle when handling dogs. Able to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision. Responsible and proactive when it comes to identifying and addressing problems. Previous kennel, daycare, boarding, veterinary, or dog-training experience is a plus, but not required. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, squat, kneel, and lift. Clean kennels and dog areas throughout the shift. Safely handle dogs and supplies. Lift and carry food, cleaning supplies, crates, and other items as needed.

Pay:
$12.00 - $14.00 per hour
