Job Description

Summary Central Bark Spring is looking for dependable, energetic, and animal-loving team members to join us as Dog Daycare Attendants. This is a hands-on position focused on providing a safe, clean, and positive environment for the dogs in our daycare and boarding programs. A large part of your day will be spent actively supervising groups of dogs, learning their personalities and behaviors, maintaining safe play, and making sure every dog receives attentive care. This is also a physically active position that involves cleaning, feeding, handling dogs of different sizes, and working both indoors and outdoors. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable and confident around dogs, has previous experience caring for or handling them, and is interested in continuing to develop their knowledge of canine behavior and professional dog care. Previous experience in a dog daycare, boarding facility, veterinary clinic, shelter, rescue, training environment, or similar setting is a plus. Central Bark provides care 365 days a year. Our team shares responsibility for providing coverage throughout the year, so some weekend and holiday availability is required and may be scheduled on a rotating basis. What You'll Be DoingDog Care & Playgroup Supervision Actively supervise groups of dogs during indoor and outdoor play. Learn to recognize canine body language and behaviors that may indicate stress, overstimulation, or potential conflict. Encourage healthy, appropriate play and interact positively with dogs throughout the day. Safely leash, collar, crate, and move dogs throughout the facility. Assist with feeding, water, medications, and other individual care instructions. Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, energy level, stool, or overall well-being and communicate concerns to management. Provide basic first aid when necessary and follow established safety procedures. Assist with daycare, boarding, and other dog care services as needed. Cleaning & Facility Care Keeping our facility clean is an important part of providing a healthy and comfortable environment for the dogs in our care. All team members participate in maintaining the facility.
Responsibilities include:
Promptly cleaning and disposing of dog waste. Cleaning and disinfecting play areas, crates, kennels, bowls, equipment, and other dog-care areas. Sweeping, mopping, washing, and performing general facility cleaning. Maintaining clean indoor and outdoor play environments. Helping complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities. Team & Customer Care Work closely with other team members and management to provide consistent care for every dog. Follow individual feeding, medication, handling, and care instructions accurately. Communicate important information about dogs to coworkers and management during shift changes. Assist with bringing dogs to and from their parents during arrival and pickup. Help maintain Central Bark's standards for safety, cleanliness, customer service, and animal care. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Qualifications We are looking for candidates who have a genuine interest in working with dogs and some previous experience handling or caring for them. Professional animal-care experience is a plus but is not the only experience we consider.
The ideal candidate:
Has previous experience handling, caring for, or regularly working with dogs. Is comfortable and confident around dogs of different breeds, sizes, and energy levels. Is dependable, punctual, and takes responsibility for their work. Is interested in learning more about canine behavior, body language, and safe playgroup management. Can remain attentive while supervising multiple dogs at once. Can stay calm and think quickly when unexpected situations occur. Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with coworkers and management. Understands that cleaning and sanitation are an important part of professional animal care. Can accurately follow written instructions regarding feeding, medications, schedules, and individual dog needs. Is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors. Is available for some weekend and holiday shifts as part of the team's scheduling rotation. Physical Requirements This is an active and physically demanding position. Team members must be able to: Remain on their feet for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive cleaning and dog-handling tasks. Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary. Safely control and handle dogs of various sizes and strength levels. Work outdoors in varying Texas weather conditions. Use the grip and physical control necessary to safely leash, collar, and handle dogs. Employees are required to maintain a current Tetanus vaccination. Team members receive training on Central Bark's procedures, playgroup management, safety standards, and approach to professional dog care.
Pay:
From $12.00 per hour
