Job Description

Part-Time Temporary Dog Trainer Valley K9 Training Co is looking for a reliable, motivated, and confident Part-Time Dog Trainer to join our team for a temporary position from December 1st through April 30th. This position is primarily to cover an existing trainer's schedule while they are out on leave. The typical schedule is approximately 15-20 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours when covering team members' vacations or other scheduling needs.
Typical Schedule Tuesday:
Morning shift
Wednesday:
Evening shift
Thursday:
Morning shift Occasional weekends: Vacation and staff coverage Approximately 15-20 hours per week Responsibilities Train and handle dogs using our established training methods and protocols Work with dogs in our day train, board & train, and other training programs Safely transport dogs to and from training when needed Provide excellent care and supervision of dogs while in your care Follow individualized training plans and maintain accurate training notes Communicate professionally with clients and team members Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment Complete daily care and cleaning responsibilities as needed Follow all company safety and handling procedures Requirements Must be 18 years or older Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must be able to safely transport dogs in your vehicle Vehicle must have enough space to securely fit dog crates Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Comfortable working around dogs that may be reactive, fearful, excitable, or otherwise challenging Willingness to learn and follow Valley K9 Training Co's training methods and standards Strong communication and customer-service skills Must be physically capable of safely handling dogs and performing routine cleaning/lifting tasks Experience Professional dog training experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with strong dog-handling experience who are eager to learn and grow their skills. We are looking for someone who is dependable, coachable, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys working with dogs. The right person will be comfortable following direction while also being able to confidently manage dogs independently.
