Job Description

Shifts:
Morning and evening shifts (7-10am & 5-8pm) Weekends required Holidays required
Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and cleaning
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for the animals
  • Monitor the health and well-being of the animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
  • Assist with bathing of dogs as needed
  • Handle and restrain dogs safely and securely during procedures or examinations
  • Administer medications or treatments to dogs as directed
  • Assist with socializing of dogs in the kennel
  • Provide exercise and playtime for dogs to ensure their physical and mental well-being
Experience:
  • Previous experience working with dogs in a kennel or veterinary setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of animal care practices, including proper handling techniques and basic medical procedures
  • Familiarity with dog training methods and techniques is a plus
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, such as bags of food or crates, as needed
Skills:
  • Animal restraint: Skill in safely restraining dogs during procedures or examinations to ensure their safety and the safety of staff members
  • Dog training: Knowledge of dog training methods and techniques to assist with training and socializing dogs in the kennel
  • Dog handling: Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
  • Animal care: Understanding of basic animal care needs, including feeding, watering, exercise, and hygiene
  • Pet care: Ability to provide compassionate care for animals in a kennel setting, including monitoring their health and well-being Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
