Operations Manager About Wash Bar The Wash Bar is a prep salon dedicated to hair hygiene. We specialize in the prep, maintenance, and removal of protective styles - so clients don't have to. Our services keep the hair and scalp healthy, making it easier for customers (or their stylists) to achieve their next look. With multiple locations across South Florida and more on the way, we are setting a new standard in professional hair care with a focus on healthy hair, convenience, and client-centered service. Position Overview The Hair Associate is a role for licensed cosmetology professionals committed to advancing in their technical expertise and career path. This role focuses on delivering Wash Bar's core services, supporting salon operations, and providing a superior client experience. Hair Associates are expected to demonstrate consistency, teamwork, and a growth mindset that aligns with Wash Bar's values and standards. Key Responsibilities Operations & Problem Solving Support day-to-day salon operations with attention to detail and efficiency Assist with inventory management, product restocking, and supply tracking Identify and communicate operational issues to Operations Manager Adapt to scheduling changes and client needs with professionalism Salon Management & Operations Maintain a clean, safe, and professional salon environment at all times Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols Complete assigned prep and closing tasks consistently and on time Contribute to overall salon organization, efficiency, and client flow Client Services & Technical Skills Remove protective styles safely and efficiently Perform core Wash Bar services including washes, treatments, blowdrys, trims, silk press, and braid-downs Deliver consistent, high-quality results that align with Wash Bar standards Provide personalized client care, including product recommendations and upselling where appropriate Accurately document client notes and service history for ongoing care Team Leadership Support and collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth salon operations Uphold Wash Bar's culture of professionalism, teamwork, and client focus Mentor junior team members through knowledge-sharing and modeling best practices Report progress, challenges, and recommendations directly to Trainer and/or Operations Manager Qualifications (Required) Active Florida Cosmetology License Completion of all Hair Associate training modules (assigned by Trainer) Strong technical skills in blowdrys, trims, silk press, and braid-downs Proven ability to follow structured service protocols and timing standards Excellent communication and customer service skills Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and salon support Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a salon, blow-dry bar, or protective style prep environment Strong retail product knowledge and sales experience Familiarity with natural hair care and scalp health treatments Experience working in a fast-paced, client-centered environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate + performance-based bonus opportunities Early access to advanced stylist training programs Growth track to Lead Hair Associate and Master Stylist Ongoing mentorship and technical development Flexible scheduling with extended operating hours (7 days/week) Employee discounts Opportunities for leadership roles within a growing salon brand
