As a Park Attendant at Barber Park , you'll help keep one of the City's public spaces safe, clean, welcoming, and ready for the community to enjoy. Work Schedule 20-30 hours per week , maximum of 1,000 hours in a calendar year. Hourly Employment :
Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
Limited Hours :
Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
Pension System :
Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city's pension system. While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. Help make Greensboro a recreation and entertainment hub with welcoming public spaces for everyone. About the Role Park Attendants are essential to keeping Greensboro's parks operating safely and looking their best. At Barber Park, you'll combine customer service, grounds maintenance, facility care, and park operations to help ensure visitors have a positive experience. You'll work both independently and as part of a dedicated team, responding to the day-to-day needs of the park and assisting during special events and busy recreation periods. What You'll Do Open, monitor, close, and secure the park and facilities. Patrol park and athletic facilities and report suspicious or unsafe activity. Explain and enforce park rules in a professional and respectful manner. Provide friendly, responsive customer service to park visitors. Complete grounds and landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, blowing, litter removal, and mulching. Operate vehicles and equipment such as pickups, utility vehicles, dump trucks, mowers, tractors, and loaders. Perform custodial duties to keep facilities clean, sanitary, and welcoming. Clean restrooms, remove trash, sweep and mop, disinfect surfaces and equipment, and restock supplies. Inspect parks, playgrounds, and facilities and report maintenance needs. Operate power tools such as backpack blowers, string trimmers, and edgers. Use hand tools to complete minor repairs. Assist with operating and maintaining the park's spray ground. Support parking and crowd control during special events. Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. Attend staff meetings and training sessions. Complete assigned work efficiently, safely, and professionally.
Qualifications What You Bring Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED Valid Driver's License Janitorial Experience Experience with customer service An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications ): Prior experience in grounds and landscape maintenance Utility Vehicle and ground maintenance equipment operation
