Licensed Hairstylist/HAirdresser-Memory Care|Commission-Based Senior Services of America - 3.3 Issaquah, WA Job Details PRN 22 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Issaquah Memory Care is seeking a compassionate, dependable, Licensed Hair Stylist to provide salon services to our residents. This is a unique opportunity for a stylist who enjoys building relationships and making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. Our salon serves residents living with memory loss, so patience, kindness, flexibility, and the ability to create a calm and compassionate experience is essential. The stylist will independently manage salon appointments, resident/client scheduling, service records, and communication related to salon services while partnering with our community team to ensure residents are supported and ready for appointments.
Responsibilities include:
Provide professional haircuts, styling, shampoo/blowouts, color, perms, and other appropriate salon services Manage your own resident/client appointment book and salon schedule Coordinate appointments and scheduling with residents, families, and community staff as needed Maintain accurate records of services provided Create a welcoming, patient, and comfortable salon experience Adapt communication and services for residents living with dementia or cognitive impairment Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized salon and follow all applicable infection-control and cosmetology requirements Communicate professionally and promptly with residents, families, and the community team Build and maintain a consistent clientele within the community
Qualifications:
Current Washington State cosmetology or hair design license Previous salon experience preferred Experience working with seniors or individuals living with dementia is a plus, but not required Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills Patient, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working independently Strong organizational and scheduling skills Ability to manage client books, appointments, and follow-up independently Must meet applicable community background-check and vendor/contractor requirements
Schedule & Compensation:
This is a PRN/commission-based opportunity with scheduling based on resident demand. The ideal stylist will establish consistent salon days and build relationships with residents and families over time. If you love making people feel good, enjoy working independently, and want your work to have a little more meaning than the average salon appointment, we'd love to meet you. Current Washington State cosmetology or hair design license in good standing Ability to independently manage client appointments, scheduling, and service records Strong organizational and time-management skills Experience providing haircuts, styling, shampoo/blowouts, color, perms, and other salon services Comfortable working independently in a senior living/memory care setting Patient, compassionate, and able to adapt communication for residents living with dementia or cognitive impairment Excellent customer service and communication skills with residents, families, and team members Dependable and able to maintain consistent scheduled salon days based on resident demand Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized salon in accordance with applicable cosmetology and infection-control standards Must successfully meet all required background check, vendor/contractor, and community onboarding requirements Previous experience working with older adults or individuals living with dementia preferred, but not required Compensation is commission-based and dependent upon services provided. This position is responsible for maintaining and building their resident/client book within the community.
