The Opportunity As a Hairstylist Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced stylists while learning the systems, techniques, and client-service standards that make James Mark Salon successful. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills and eventually transition into a successful stylist career. Responsibilities Provide an exceptional and welcoming experience for every guest Assist stylists with shampooing, conditioning, blow-drying, and basic styling Prepare clients and workstations for services Assist with color applications, foiling, toning, and other salon services as directed Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked stations Properly sanitize tools, bowls, brushes, and salon areas Help with laundry, towels, product organization, and general salon operations Assist stylists during color services and other technical appointments Learn and follow James Mark Salon's service standards and procedures Educate yourself on professional haircare products and recommendations Help create a positive, energetic, team-oriented salon environment Greet clients professionally and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit Support the front desk and salon team when needed Maintain a polished, professional appearance and attitude What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Currently licensed or working toward their cosmetology license Passionate about hair, beauty, and the salon industry Eager to learn and improve Dependable, punctual, and responsible Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with clients A strong team player Detail-oriented and organized Able to take direction and accept constructive feedback Professional in appearance, communication, and behavior Motivated to build a long-term career in the beauty industry Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-end salon environment What We Offer Hands-on training with experienced stylists Opportunity to learn advanced color, cutting, styling, and consultation techniques Exposure to professional haircare brands and products A supportive team environment Opportunities for continued education and professional development A clear path toward becoming a successful stylist Opportunities to build relationships with salon guests and develop your own clientele Potential for increased responsibility and compensation as your skills develop If you're ready to learn, work hard, grow, and become part of the James Mark Salon team, we'd love to hear from you.
