We specialize exclusively in sugaring hair removal and are known for delivering a consistent, high-quality client experience. We handle the majority of marketing, client communication, and support so you can focus on your craft and your clients. About the Role We're hiring a Hair Removal Specialist (Sugarist) for our San Rafael location. This role is ideal for someone who wants stability, a growing and consistent flow of clients, and a long-term place to grow without the pressure of running their own business. You will be responsible for delivering excellent services, maintaining a clean and organized studio, and contributing to a strong team environment. Responsibilities Perform sugaring hair removal services Provide a high level of client care and professionalism Educate clients on pre and post care Maintain cleanliness and organization of your studio Use Vagaro to manage bookings, check-ins, and check-outs as needed Track and restock supplies Requirements Active California Esthetician or Cosmetology License (required) Strong reliability and professionalism Comfortable performing Brazilian services Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and client service skills Availability for either morning or evening shifts Reliable attendance Who Thrives Here You like structure and consistency You want to focus on clients, with minimal admin responsibilities You take pride in your work and your room You are dependable and show up on time, every time You enjoy being part of a team but can operate independently Who This Is Not a Fit For You prefer full control over pricing, schedule, or products You are looking for a temporary role You struggle with punctuality or consistency Schedule Options Morning shift: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM Evening shift: 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM During the interview process, we'll discuss the specific schedule available for this position. Shift assignments are based on current business needs and candidate availability, so available schedules may change throughout the hiring process. Weekend availability is strongly preferred and will be a significant factor in the hiring process. Employment Type Full-time preferred (30+ hours/week) Part-time considered Hours typically build over time as your book of clients grows At-will employment Compensation Starting at $21/hour during training, then $24/hour when going live with paying clients Structured hourly increases based on performance and tenure Most team members reach $35-$45+ per hour based on performance and tenure (customer tips are additional) Benefits Health insurance for employees who work at least 30 hours per week (50% of employee premium covered after 2 months; dependents may be added at employee's expense) 401(k) eligibility after 6 months Employee discounts Company-paid training Marketing and client acquisition provided Up to 30 days unpaid time off per year (prorated in first year) Location San Rafael, CA Equal Opportunity Employer Humble Bee is an equal opportunity employer.
