As part of our team, the Funeral Support Staff plays a vital role in assisting with the preparation and execution of funeral and memorial services. This position requires professionalism, empathy, discretion, and a strong sense of service.

Key Responsibilities:

Assists in setting up and breaking down funeral, memorial, or graveside services, including arranging chairs, flowers, photos and other memorial items. Greet and direct guests during visitations and services, ensuring a warm, respectful atmosphere. Escort families and guests to appropriate areas, offering assistance as needed. Provide support during funeral processions, including driving service vehicles (e.g., hearse, limo, flower van) as needed. Assist with casket placement and handling, pallbearer assistance, and other ceremonial duties as needed. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of chapels, viewing rooms, vehicles, and common areas. Support Funeral Directors in basic preparations and administrative tasks (based on training and comfort level). Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity of the deceased and their families at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid state-issued driver's license with a clear driving record (required for any vehicle operation). Professional appearance and demeanor. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm, composed, and supportive in emotionally charged situations. Detail-oriented with a high degree of concentration and attention Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Previous experience in a customer service, hospitality, or caregiving role is a plus. Physical ability to lift 75 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and perform light physical duties.
