Identify eligible juniors and seniors who have obtained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above
Communication:
Email eligible students to notify them of their status and hold a meeting to distribute applications and explain the selection process.
Resource and Guidance:
Service as a primary resource for students who have questions about the application or the society's requirements
Seleection Process Management:
Collect completed applications by the established deadline Evaluate applicants based on leadership, service, and character Facilitate the faculty councile, which individually reviews applications and makes the final determination on student inductions
Member Relations:
Provide explanations to students who were not accepted into the society
Governance:
Manage student membership, removals, and appeals according to the established NHS bylaws
Operational and Financial Duties:
Fundraising:
Obtain prior written permission from building principals or the activites director before initiating any fundraising efforts
Cash Handling:
Ensure all funds raised are turned into the office as soon as possible (sponsors must never leave money in their rooms overnight)
Supervision:
Maintain qualified adult supervision of students at all times during meetings, activities, or while using school facilities.
Purchased Services:
Ensure that any outside service providers who work directly with students undergo a comprehensive background check before beginning work.

Ensure members adhere to the district's Good Conduct Rule, as violations can disqualify individuals from leadership positions or organization membership.
Academic Integrity:
Promot exceptional character and academic integrity, addressing any behaviors like plagiarism immediately
Field Trips and Travel:
Ensure all students have signed permssion slips for field trips Oversee student transportation, ensuring members ride both to and from events in school-district vehicles unless a principal has approved alternative arrangements Sponsors (not the bus driver) are responsible for acting as the chaperone on activity trips
Professional Standards Role Modeling:
Conduct yourself in a professional manner, following the Smart Dress policy by "dressing for the day" based on scheduled meetings or community events
Communication:
Check voicemail and email daily, responding to parent or student inquiries by the end of the following business day.
