Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Cemetery Sexton to join our team for St. Patrick Cemetery in Stiles and St. Anthony Cemetery in Oconto Falls. The Cemetery Sexton plays an important role in ensuring cemetery operations are conducted respectfully, efficiently, and professionally. Responsibilities include preparing gravesites for burials, assisting with burial and committal services, setting and maintaining grave markers and monuments, coordinating with funeral homes and families, maintaining accurate cemetery records, locating burial spaces, and ensuring cemetery rules and procedures are followed. The Sexton may also assist with opening and closing graves, scheduling services, and general cemetery maintenance and operations. The ideal candidate will be respectful, organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact compassionately with grieving families are essential. Previous cemetery, funeral service, or maintenance experience is helpful but not required. A valid driver's license and the ability to operate cemetery equipment safely are required.
