In person Job Summary Dalton Funeral Home is seeking a compassionate, professional, and highly detail-oriented Funeral Director/Embalmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong embalming skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to providing families with compassionate and professional care during one of the most difficult times in their lives. This position requires someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of care for the deceased and the families we serve. Responsibilities Meet with families to arrange personalized funeral services Coordinate and conduct funeral services, visitations, graveside services, and other ceremonies Provide professional and compassionate communication with families throughout the arrangement and service process Perform removals and transfers with dignity and professionalism Perform embalming, dressing, cosmetizing, and casketing Maintain the highest standards of care and presentation for the deceased Complete necessary contracts, authorizations, permits, death certificates, and other required documentation Manage multiple cases while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Perform first calls and communicate with families regarding arrangements and transportation Participate in a rotating on-call schedule Provide after-hours phone coverage and respond to first calls as needed Work closely with other staff members to ensure services are organized and conducted professionally Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment Provide exceptional customer service and follow-up to families Qualifications Valid Georgia Funeral Director/Embalmer License or eligibility for Georgia reciprocity Minimum of 3 years of funeral service experience preferred Strong embalming skills required Valid Georgia driver's license with an acceptable driving record Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Compassionate, professional, and dependable demeanor Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and web-based applications Ability to work independently while also being an effective member of a team Compensation $63,000-$78,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications Paid weekly via direct deposit Daily Pay On Demand available Benefits After a 90-day probationary period , eligible employees receive: Employer-funded ICHRA — up to $700 per month toward individual health insurance coverage Paid time off 8 paid holidays Why Join Dalton Funeral Home?
