Job Description

The Funeral Home Office Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the funeral home office and providing direct supervision to the administrative assistants (if applicable). This role ensures the accurate, efficient, and dignified management of funeral home records, contracts, financials, and service scheduling.
Reports to:
Location Leader Responsibilities Office & Team Management:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the funeral home office and monitor time and attendance for the administrative team.
Staff Supervision:
Supervise, support, and guide the administrative assistants (if applicable) to maintain an organized, structured, and efficient work area.
Contract and Form Administration:
Review and finalize funeral home forms and contracts, and train new hires in digital entry.
Service Scheduling:
Assist the funeral director with scheduling services with churches, ministers, cemeteries, grave-diggers, vault companies, police escorts, part-time staff, musicians, etc.
Financial Processing:
Process and post local payments (including checks and credit card payments), maintain the record of deposit, and collaborate with the home office support team. First Contact with
Public:
Answer phone calls and in-person visits, schedule appointments and inquiries with relevant information and a helpful attitude.
Permanent Record Maintenance:
Maintain vital permanent records, and, as time permits, enter old cases into the case management software.
Inventory & Ordering:
Order supplies, complete regular inventory counts, and manage the purchasing of office and facility supplies.
Work Area:
Maintain an organized, structured, and efficient work area.
Software Management:
Enter data into Halcyon, processing and scanning contracts into funeral home software to maintain flawless digital records. Serve as the location's subject matter expert on the Halcyon system.
Reporting:
Compile and maintain state-required reports.
Invoicing & Receipts:
Receive and process local invoices as directed by the Location Leader.
Human Resources Support:
Administer local Human Resources (HR) processes, such as processing new hire paperwork, maintaining employee files, and managing other confidential files (I-9s, etc.) in cooperation with HR and the home office support team.
Notary Services:
Notarize official documents as needed (the fee to become a notary will be covered by the Company). Work Environment Professional dress is required Compensation and Benefits Compensation based on experience and competency $21 - $24/hour. Position is non-exempt.
