Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation, where compassionate care, dedicated teamwork, and meaningful work come together to make a positive impact every day! We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Laundry Assistant to join our team and help provide high-quality laundry services to our residents.
Position Overview:
Laundry Assistant Under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping, the Laundry Assistant is responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident clothing and facility linens according to established policies and procedures, and to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility.
General Responsibilities:
Perform laundry duties according to established daily, weekly, and monthly schedules. Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens. Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment according to established procedures. Ensure resident clothing is properly identified and returned to the appropriate resident. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and infection prevention throughout the laundry department. Properly handle laundry supplies and equipment while following safety and sanitation guidelines. Respond promptly and courteously to resident and staff needs related to laundry services.
Qualifications:
Laundry experience preferred. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Must demonstrate patience, compassion, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled. Must be capable of performing the essential job functions and physical requirements of the position.
