In this full-time, hourly position, you will be responsible for the efficient and timely processing of all linens, towels, and related items used throughout the facility. Working behind the scenes, you will adhere to strict cleanliness and safety standards, operate commercial laundry equipment, and support the housekeeping team with a consistent supply of fresh, high-quality linens. This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment. What You'll Do Receive, sort, and separate linens, towels, and other laundry items according to type, color, and degree of soiling. Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines. Load and unload machines, ensuring appropriate water levels, temperatures, and chemical usage for each type of load. Inspect linens for stains, tears, and excessive wear, and follow spot-treating or stain-removal procedures as needed. Fold, count, and neatly stack clean linens and towels for delivery to housekeeping storage areas and guest service locations. Prepare, label, and organize laundry carts and storage shelves to ensure an efficient flow of clean items to the housekeeping team. Monitor inventory levels of linens, towels, detergents, and other laundry supplies, and notify supervisors when stock needs replenishment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room, equipment, and surrounding areas, including sweeping, mopping, and routine cleaning tasks. Perform basic preventive maintenance checks on laundry equipment and promptly report any malfunctions or safety concerns. Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures, including proper handling of soiled items and use of personal protective equipment. Follow established policies and procedures regarding lost-and-found items discovered in pockets or among laundry loads. Assist the broader housekeeping team as needed, which may include supporting linen distribution, room linen changes, or special projects. Work effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and respond to changing business or occupancy levels. Follow scheduling, timekeeping, and attendance expectations, including weekends and holidays as required by the operation. Qualifications Previous experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or similar cleaning role preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided. Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions in English. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify stains, damage, and quality issues in linens and garments. Comfort working in a warm, humid environment around commercial laundry equipment for extended periods. Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift, and to lift, push, or pull loads of laundry typically up to 40-50 pounds. Basic understanding of or willingness to learn safe chemical handling and proper use of cleaning products and detergents. Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing positively to a team environment. Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service.
