We are committed to fostering a warm, supportive environment where residents feel valued and cared for. Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laundry / Linen Worker to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of linens, garments, and textiles used throughout our community. Your efforts will ensure a hygienic and comfortable environment for our residents while adhering to safety standards and textile care protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Notify the Supervisor when supplies (gloves, soap, bleach, etc.) are low. Wear gloves and gown when sorting dirty linen or when loading washers. Weigh linen and place inside sorting bins. Cover and take bins down the hall to soiled linen entrance area. Do not enter clean linen area with soiled linen, unless clean linen area is clear. Always wash hands before handling clean linen. Pick up personal laundry from the Health Center, the Villa and Chapel View. Wash, dry and fold personal laundry and personal linen and deliver back to residents. Iron Clothing on occasion. Practice isolation handling procedures with dirty linen. Sort all linen bags according to texture of material. Keep work area in a clean, neat and orderly condition. Fill washers with soiled institutional linen and set the correct poundage. Remove washed linen from washers and place in dryers, according to texture of material. Set dryer at 25 minutes or on cycle if more drying time is needed for certain materials. Reset dial when done. Continue sorting, washing, drying and folding institutional linen until completed. Keep daily poundage logs. Turn in linen count daily. Separate personal items that need mending and turn over to mending department on Fridays. Perform the following items in the Laundry area: Clean all linen carts. Clean dryer filters and replace as needed. Clean drain filters and replace as needed. Clean washing machines. Clean mop buckets. Clean soap dispensers and replace soap as needed. Clean fire extinguishers Polish machines with stainless steel cleanser. Empty trash. Refill paper towel dispensers.
REQUIRED OTHER FUNCTIONS
Attend departmental and all-staff in-services and continuing education programs. Observe and practice safety and infection control procedures. Protect resident's rights and confidentiality at all times. Be able to work harmoniously with co-workers. Be able to deal tactfully with residents, family members and visitors.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

May be subject to frequent interruptions. May be subject to emotionally upset residents, family members or visitors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORKING CONDITIONS
May be called on to work beyond normal work hours when necessary. May be called on to work in areas not normally assigned when necessary. Works in a well-lighted ventilated work area. Pay:
$19.00 - $19.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
