Job Summary:

This position ensures the washing and drying of linens takes place in a safe and efficient manner, in order to effectively balance the workload throughout the Laundry Operation of Orchid Island. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to: Follows directions and safety precautions while operating machines and using appropriate cleaning chemicals. Ensures wash area is clean and organized. Loads washers/dryers . Unloads washers/dryers into laundry carts in safe manner. Properly steams/irons clean laundry items. Performs other housekeeping duties as assigned. Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Executive Housekeeper. Qualifications:

One year of comparable work preferred. Must be able to read, comprehend, and communicate basic English. Must be able to legally drive company issued golf cart. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Able to read and understand SDS sheets and recognizes precautions for each authorized chemical that may be used Able to read and understand directions for operating machines and recognizes when a machine is not functioning properly Able to identify when Softrol Injector system is not working properly, and react accordingly Ability to multi-task Willing to work independently with minimal supervision Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling. Frequent repetitive motions. Continuous standing and walking. Requires regular in-person attendance. Weekends are required. The pay range for this role is: 15 - 15 USD per hour(Orchid Main Account)
