Hilo Benioff Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Laundry Helper I to support the essential operations that keep patient care running smoothly. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that clean, sanitary linens and garments are consistently available for patients and healthcare teams. Your work directly contributes to infection control, patient comfort, and overall hospital efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Fold and process laundered items including linens, blankets, and patient garments
Operate and assist with flatwork ironer and laundry equipment to process sheets, pillowcases, and related items
Sort and separate laundry items for proper processing and handling
Deliver clean linen to various hospital units using carts and equipment
Stock and organize clean linens on carts and designated storage areas
Perform general cleaning, assist with pack preparation, and support overall laundry operations
Desired Skills & Abilities:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to operate or learn to operate laundry equipment
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods

0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE. Pre-Employment Health Requirements Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
