Summary The laundry position is responsible for the inspection, sorting, collection, and assembly of linens. This position is also responsible for preparing the linen for transport to contracted laundry service, assisting with clean linen distribution per linen exchange carts, the inventory, re-stock, and distribution of general patient care linens and maintaining linens in good repair. The Laundry position is also responsible for the laundering of long term care resident's personal laundry. General Hours of Work Daytime hours with rotating start times and rotating holidays. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificate, Licenses, Registrations N/A Essential Functions Responsible for the inspection, assembly, wrapping of linens, and care of personal clothing. Responsible for completing linen inventory and re-stock protocols. Maintains linen inventory in a state of good repair. Completes all linen functions in accordance with established Infection Control Protocols. Responsible for the collection of soiled linens from all nursing unit pick up areas. Prepares the soiled linen carts for transport to contracted laundry service. Assists with distribution of clean linen to all nursing units. Responsible for the laundering of long term care resident's personal laundry. This includes the weighing, washing, drying, folding, ironing, and mending of the resident's personal laundry. This position is responsible for delivering the personal laundry to appropriate resident's rooms, hanging or placing in specific closets and drawers, and searching for lost or missed places items. Retrieves empty clean linen transport carts from linen processing area and delivers to the soiled linen sorting area. Cross train to other department locations and responsibilities as needed. Housekeeping duties may be required. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
