Non-Exempt A Brief Overview Services Technicians perform a wide range of duties internally to ensure the ongoing operation of the organization. Duties can range between sanitation, laundry, and nutritional services. Linen Services Techs work in all stations of the Linen Department and distributes linen throughout the Medical Center. Experience Qualifications Experience in a service industry. Preferred Experience working in a hospital. Preferred Skills and Abilities Ability to read a limited number of two
and three
syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. (Required proficiency) Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one
or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. (Required proficiency) What you will do Sorts wet linen into correct categories/baskets. Visually inspects all linens for cleanliness, tears and stains. Operates all laundry equipment per instruction, which can include loading and unloading washers and dryers. Folds all types of clean linens in a neat, consistent manner and then placed in proper storage areas. Load linen carts with clean linen with correct par levels. Distributes Linens throughout Medical Center. Keeps equipment, laundry carts and work areas clean at all times. Travel Requirements 20% Delivery and pick-up; dependent upon department need. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work indoors with extreme temperature fluctuations sometimes exceeding 90 degrees F. The employee is regularly exposed to heavy equipment with moving parts, blood borne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and humid conditions.
