Job Summary The Companies of J.J. Young are seeking Laundry Attendants for our client in Latham. The client operates a hotel and is looking for a couple laundry attendants to assist during a busy week. This is a temporary position, but could turn into temp-to-hire. Responsibilities Operate industrial laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and garment care equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety compliance Handle textiles and laundry materials with care, performing sorting, washing, drying, folding, and packaging according to established procedures Use appropriate laundry detergents and cleaning agents while following safety protocols to prevent contamination or injury Manage heavy lifting tasks using push carts or other equipment to transport linens and garments efficiently Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning work areas and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment Assist in the collection and distribution of clean linens or garments to designated areas or departments Follow safety standards in production processes, including manual handling procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment Keep accurate records of laundry cycles, materials used, and inventory levels for efficient operations Support special laundry services such as dry cleaning or textile cleaning as required Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of laundry tasks while maintaining quality standards Experience Prior experience in laundry services, textile cleaning, or related roles is preferred Familiarity with garment care machines, industrial dryers, and basic laundry operations is advantageous Knowledge of sanitation practices and safety standards in production environments Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting Basic math skills for measuring detergents and calculating load capacities Strong customer service orientation when interacting with staff or guests regarding linen needs Demonstrated reliability with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety protocols This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the cleanliness and comfort of our facilities through diligent work and a commitment to excellence.
