Laundry Staff Elizabeth Scott Community - 4.0 Maumee, OH Job Details Full-time 21 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Laundry Staff The Elizabeth Scott Community is a 5 Star Facility and we are excited to announce we are currently hiring for a Full Time Laundry Assistant to join our growing team. We are looking for talented and motivated individuals who are eager to make a difference in people's lives. Essential Job Functions Transports dirty linen to laundry room. Sorts and weighs linens and residents' clothes as directed following safety precautions and utilizing personal safety equipment. Washes, dries, folds, and hangs laundry according to established procedures. Collects, labels and returns personal clothing of residents as directed. Transports clean linen and clothing to appropriate area. Maintains linen carts and linen storage areas. Maintains laundry equipment and carts; keeps linen carts stocked at all times. Checks all chemical dispensers daily to be sure they are operating correctly and desired amounts of chemicals are maintained. Cleans dryer lint filters every 3 hours of dryer use and at the end of the shift. Dusts with feather duster at the end of the shift. Sweeps and wet mops floor at the end of the shift. Empties waste basket as needed and at the end of the shift. Cleans and disinfects laundry sink. Leaves all work areas clean and in order, ready for the next shift. Reports any problems with machines or equipment immediately to the director. Attends and participates in in-service education programs. Follows established safety rules and policies and procedures of this facility. Performs related work as required.
Job Qualifications Education:
GED or high school diploma
Experience:
Previous housekeeping or laundry experience desired. Knowledge and Abilities Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to learn concepts, techniques, and principles used in laundering procedures. Ability to adjust to new methods, techniques, and equipment. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. Ability to stand, stoop, and lift throughout the working day in a safe and effective manner. Ability to independently demonstrate a sensitive and caring attitude towards residents while performing duties. Ability to assume responsibility for work performance. Ability to maintain confidences.
