Job Description

The Laundry Operator will be responsible for the complete laundering of the residents' personal items and table linens under the direction of the Housekeeping Director. It will be the responsibility of the Laundry Operator to have full working knowledge of the laundry equipment and proper method of laundering items, to ensure the highest quality of care of the residents' personal belongings. Maintain Rights of Residents as set forth by the Texas Department of Health Laws and Regulations.  Collect soiled laundry from residents.  Sort laundry and tag appropriately.  Launder all items appropriately (all items to be dry-cleaned shall be labeled, sent to the dry cleaners, and received from the dry-cleaners on a regular weekly schedule).  Launder facility linens, dietary aprons, towels, etc.  Dry laundry appropriately.  Steam presses items as needed.  Return clean laundry to residents.  Communicate with the residents and/or families in regard to any and all concerns with personal laundry.  Has housekeeping tasks assigned occasionally.  Knowledgeable of and implements all safety, universal precautions, and Company policies/procedures for the protection of residents, co-workers, and self.  Other duties as assigned, with or without reasonable accommodations, to assist in maintaining quality standards and maintaining the facility as a viable and successful entity.  Previous nursing home experience preferred  Ability to comprehend industry and regulatory knowledge  Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents within the facility  Ability to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies  Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills  Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude  Ability to remain calm under stress  Ability to move throughout the workday  Ability to lift and transfer a minimum of 25 pounds Page 2 Company Culture Acknowledgement  Carry out your job functions efficiently and effectively  Be professional, supportive, and kind to internal and external constituents  Remain loyal and confidential to staff, residents, and owner  Keep the corporate office apprised of situations that could negatively impact the facility  Ensure only positive information is mentioned to all contacts of the facility, prospective residents, staff, sales staff, and inspection teams, etc
