Must include weekends and holidays About the Position Hilton Garden Inn Chesapeake/Suffolk is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our housekeeping team. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring that clean, properly processed linens and towels are consistently available to support guest rooms and hotel operations. We are looking for someone who takes pride in cleanliness, follows instructions, works efficiently, and understands that clean, fresh linens are essential to the guest experience. Responsibilities Operate commercial washers and dryers according to established procedures. Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize sheets, pillowcases, towels, washcloths, and other hotel linens. Inspect linens for stains, damage, discoloration, and excessive wear. Rewash stained items and remove damaged linens from circulation according to hotel procedures. Maintain consistent linen quality and ensure items are properly folded and organized. Distribute clean linens to designated storage areas and housekeeping locations. Monitor laundry supplies and notify management when inventory is low. Keep laundry equipment, work surfaces, floors, and storage areas clean and organized. Follow proper chemical-handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and linen shortages promptly. Assist housekeeping and public-area operations when needed, including general cleaning and other assigned duties. Follow hotel procedures, management instructions, and established cleanliness standards. Qualifications Previous commercial laundry, hotel housekeeping, or custodial experience is preferred. Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity. Dependable attendance and punctuality are required. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. Willingness to assist with other housekeeping duties as operational needs require. Must be available to work required weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to repeatedly bend, reach, lift, carry, and move laundry loads. Ability to handle carts and bags of linens and work around commercial laundry equipment. Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a warm, active work environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
