ABOUT THE POSITION
Mahogany Lash & Body is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Lash Artist to help serve our increasing demand for evening, late-night, and weekend appointments. This position is for a professional who is already trained and confident in performing volume lashes. This is not a beginner lash training position. Applicants must have hands-on lash experience and be prepared to demonstrate their skills before being hired. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, friendly, coachable, polished, and serious about building a long-term career in the beauty industry. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with our team—not someone seeking a temporary or short-term position.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
This position requires: Consistent weekday evening and night availability Consistent Saturday and/or Sunday availability The ability to accept appointments that may end as late as 11:59 PM A recurring schedule that can be maintained consistently Reliable transportation and a dependable plan for arriving at the Brandon studio on time Exact working days will be agreed upon before the artist's start date. Before applying, please realistically consider the commute from your home to Brandon during evening and weekend hours. We need an artist who is confident that the travel distance and late-night schedule will remain sustainable long-term. Weekend availability and the ability to work nights are required for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Lash Artist at Mahogany Lash & Body, you will be expected to: Perform quality classic, hybrid, volume, and specialty lash full sets and refills Confidently perform volume lash services within the studio's expected timing and quality standards Complete thorough client consultations and recommend styles based on each client's eyes, natural lashes, lifestyle, and desired look Protect the health and integrity of each client's natural lashes Maintain proper isolation, placement, styling, and retention practices Maintain a clean, organized, and fully sanitized workstation Follow all sanitation, safety, and infection-control requirements Create a warm, professional, and relaxing experience for every client Educate clients about proper lash aftercare Encourage appropriate rebooking, memberships, approved add-ons, and retail products Take clear, well-lit photos and videos of completed lash services Upload client content to the designated team folder Handle client questions and concerns professionally Follow all Mahogany Lash & Body policies, service procedures, and client-care standards Work well with the team and contribute to a positive, respectful environment Maintain a neat, polished, and professional appearance during every shift Wear scrubs or other approved professional attire
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must: Hold a current Florida cosmetology license, facial specialist registration, or full specialist registration that permits lash extension services Have previous professional lash extension experience Be confident performing volume full sets and volume refills Be able to perform classic and hybrid lash services Have a recent lash portfolio that includes volume work Be available for both night and weekend shifts Be comfortable working appointments that may end as late as 11:59 PM Have reliable transportation to the Brandon studio Be punctual, dependable, and consistent Have strong customer service and communication skills Maintain excellent hygiene, sanitation, and workstation organization Be open to coaching, feedback, and continued improvement Follow Mahogany Lash & Body's standards even if previous salons operated differently Communicate schedule concerns or emergencies promptly and professionally Additional beauty skills—such as brow waxing, brow tinting, brow threading, lash lifts, or permanent makeup—are a plus but are not required.
THIS POSITION IS NOT A BEGINNER TRAINING PROGRAM
Applicants should already understand lash isolation, placement, mapping, styling, sanitation, fills, removals, and safe application practices. Mahogany Lash & Body does not provide complimentary beginner lash certification in exchange for employment. Mentorship and feedback will be provided, but the selected artist must already possess the foundational skills necessary to safely work with clients.
SKILL AND SERVICE EVALUATION
Qualified applicants may be asked to complete: A portfolio review An in-person interview A hands-on lash model assessment Up to three paid trial services before permanent placement The evaluation may include isolation, fan quality, placement, styling, natural-lash safety, sanitation, consultation skills, client care, service timing, and overall professionalism. Candidates who meet Mahogany Lash & Body's standards may move into the regular commission-based pay structure. All trial expectations and compensation will be explained before any services are performed.
COMPENSATION
This is a commission-based position with opportunities to earn income through: Lash and approved beauty services Client tips Retail product sales Performance-based growth opportunities Commission percentage and compensation details will be discussed during the interview and confirmed before the artist begins accepting clients. Compensation may be based on experience, skill level, speed, service quality, reliability, and performance.
