About Beauty Station Beauty Station is a full-service salon offering hair, nails, skincare, waxing, and eyelash services. We are building more than a salon—we are building a high-performing team of beauty professionals who care about their craft, their clients, and each other's success.
Our philosophy is simple:
Leave "I, Me, Mine" at the door. Together, we grow. We believe clients come to us with individual beauty needs, concerns, and goals. Our responsibility is to listen, understand their needs, provide professional solutions within our scope of practice, and deliver results with care, quality, and consistency. Our mission is to provide beauty services with intention, placing client well-being, professional excellence, and teamwork at the center of everything we do.
Our guiding philosophy:
"Do it with intention. Your growth matters. Together, we grow." The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Salon Manager / Senior Hairstylist who leads by example, takes ownership, and has a genuine passion for developing both people and business performance. This is a hands-on leadership position. The right candidate must be a highly skilled, actively licensed hairstylist who enjoys serving clients while guiding a multidisciplinary salon team toward operational excellence. We are looking for someone who does not simply maintain daily operations but actively identifies opportunities to improve them. Our ideal manager brings solutions, not just problems; takes initiative without constant direction; and understands that the success of the salon is a shared responsibility. Key Responsibilities1. Salon Operations & Leadership Take ownership of daily salon operations, ensuring efficiency, professionalism, cleanliness, and service consistency. Lead with urgency, good judgment, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Maintain smooth scheduling, appointment flow, staffing coordination, and operational readiness. Anticipate challenges and resolve daily operational issues independently within established company policies and authority. Maintain strong standards across hair, nails, skincare, waxing, and lash services while respecting each professional's scope of practice. Establish accountability, follow through on commitments, and ensure team responsibilities are completed without constant reminders. 2. Professional Hairstyling & Technical Excellence Actively perform hairstyling services while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Demonstrate strong technical ability in haircutting, hair coloring, highlighting, balayage, consultation, and professional hair treatments. Provide thorough consultations to understand clients' hair history, concerns, expectations, and desired results. Recommend appropriate services and professional homecare products based on individual client needs. Maintain strong time management without sacrificing service quality, attention to detail, or client satisfaction. Support hairstylists in improving technical skills, client consultations, service consistency, and professional confidence. Stay current with industry trends, techniques, product knowledge, and continuing education. 3. Team Development, Coaching & Accountability Build a positive, collaborative workplace where teamwork takes priority over individual interests. Coach, mentor, and develop employees based on their strengths, performance, and professional growth goals. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and team development discussions. Establish clear expectations for productivity, professionalism, service quality, communication, and teamwork. Address performance and behavioral concerns promptly, fairly, and constructively. Encourage employees to take initiative, support one another, and contribute beyond their individual appointments. Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and the development of future team leaders. Lead by example through integrity, reliability, consistency, accountability, and emotional maturity. 4. Client Experience & Retention Ensure every client feels welcomed, listened to, respected, and professionally cared for. Help the team focus on understanding and solving clients' beauty needs, rather than simply completing services. Handle client concerns and service recovery professionally, fairly, and promptly. Develop strategies to improve client satisfaction, retention, referrals, and rebooking. Promote collaboration between departments to provide a seamless full-service salon experience. Protect the salon's professional reputation through consistent service standards and exceptional client relationships. 5. Business Growth & Performance Take an active role in increasing salon revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency. Track and evaluate key performance indicators, including: Service revenue and retail sales Client retention and rebooking rates Stylist productivity and appointment utilization Average service ticket and retail recommendations Client satisfaction and service quality Staff performance and development Identify opportunities to increase revenue through better client consultations, personalized recommendations, education, and service consistency. Help manage inventory, supplies, product usage, and controllable operating expenses. Work with the owner to establish measurable goals and execute action plans to achieve them. 6. Marketing & Brand Representation Support the salon's marketing strategy and brand identity. Encourage appropriate team participation in social media, service photos, videos, promotions, and client education. Ensure marketing efforts reflect Beauty Station's standards of professionalism, authenticity, and quality. Monitor client feedback and online reviews to identify opportunities for improvement. Build relationships that support the salon's reputation and long-term growth. 7. Owner Partnership & Independent Decision-Making Serve as the primary operational leader and a trusted communication bridge between the owner and the team. Make sound day-to-day decisions within established authority, without depending on constant owner involvement. Take responsibility for resolving operational challenges and employee concerns before escalating matters that require owner approval. Provide clear updates on performance, progress, challenges, and recommended solutions. Translate the salon's mission, vision, and core values into consistent daily actions. Help develop a strong, self-sufficient team capable of maintaining high standards even when the owner is not on-site. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of salon management or comparable beauty-industry leadership experience. Active California cosmetology license with strong professional hairstyling experience. Demonstrated technical proficiency in haircutting, hair color, highlights, and modern hairstyling services. Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable. Strong client consultation, conflict-resolution, and customer service skills. Understanding of salon operations, scheduling, retail sales, inventory, and business performance metrics. Excellent communication, organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn about and support the salon's additional beauty services and departments.
