- 50,000 per year + performance incentives | Full-Time Dogtopia of Farragut is looking for a business-minded General Manager who can lead people, grow customer relationships, and take ownership of the overall performance of a fast-moving dog daycare, boarding, and spa business.
We are not simply looking for someone to keep the doors open and get through the daily schedule. We are looking for someone who will think like a business leader. The right person will care about employee development, customer retention, sales, enrollment growth, labor efficiency, operational consistency, and the small details that ultimately determine whether a store succeeds. Previous pet-care experience is valuable, but it is not required. Strong candidates may come from hospitality, restaurants, retail, childcare, fitness, service businesses, veterinary services, sales leadership, or other environments where they have successfully managed people, customers, and business performance. We can teach Dogtopia operations. We are looking for someone who already knows how to lead people, build relationships, solve problems, and take ownership of results. What You'll Own As General Manager, you will have responsibility for the overall performance of the Farragut location, including: Lead, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable Build a strong, positive, professional team culture Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain employees Develop Team Leads and future leaders within the store Manage staffing schedules and labor based on business needs Partner with experienced operational Team Leads to ensure excellent daycare, boarding, spa, and facility execution Maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, dog handling, and customer service Build relationships with Pet Parents and ensure an exceptional customer experience Participate in Meet & Greets and help qualified families understand the value of regular daycare Follow up with prospective, new, and existing customers Identify opportunities to improve customer retention and re-engage families whose attendance is declining Make effective use of Dogtopia's customer communication, engagement, and retention tools Monitor enrollment, attendance, revenue, labor, customer trends, and other key performance indicators Look beyond the immediate daily operation to identify opportunities for growth and improvement Resolve customer concerns professionally and confidently Respond effectively to staffing issues, call-outs, employee concerns, and operational challenges Communicate regularly with ownership regarding business performance, staffing, opportunities, and concerns What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate: Has meaningful management or leadership experience Understands both people management and business performance Has successfully led hourly employees Is comfortable coaching employees and addressing poor performance when necessary Builds strong relationships while maintaining clear expectations and accountability Understands customer retention and the value of developing long-term relationships Has strong sales, business-development, hospitality, or customer-service instincts Can look at numbers and recognize trends, opportunities, and problems Is comfortable managing labor in a schedule-driven business Takes initiative rather than waiting for ownership to identify every issue Communicates clearly with employees, customers, and ownership Stays composed and makes good decisions under pressure Is curious and eager to learn Is comfortable in an active, hands-on environment Wants to make a measurable impact on the performance of the business Experience in dog daycare, boarding, veterinary services, grooming, or animal care is a strong plus, but leadership ability, business judgment, and customer focus are more important than industry background. A Strong Operations Team Is Already in Place The General Manager will not be expected to become the store's most experienced dog handler overnight. Farragut has experienced Team Leads with strong knowledge of Dogtopia operations, canine handling, daycare flow, boarding, and daily facility execution. We are looking for a General Manager who can complement that operational expertise with strong leadership, business judgment, customer focus, and employee development. The best candidate will be willing to learn from the experienced people already in the building while also helping them grow into stronger leaders. This Is Still a Hands-On Business This is not an office-only management position. Our General Manager must be visible, approachable, and engaged with employees, Pet Parents, and daily store operations. You should be willing to learn every part of the business and step in when needed. At the same time, your primary responsibility is to build and lead a team that can execute consistently without requiring the GM to personally perform every task. Growth Matters Dogtopia of Farragut is a relatively new location with meaningful opportunity for continued growth. We want a General Manager who is interested in more than maintaining the status quo. Success in this role will include strengthening customer relationships, improving retention, increasing appropriate daycare enrollment and attendance, developing employees, managing labor responsibly, and helping the store become a stronger and more profitable business. Not every customer will use every service, and success is not defined by forcing customers into products that do not fit their needs. We care about understanding our customers, communicating value effectively, and consistently executing the activities that support long-term relationships and sustainable growth. Compensation $40,000
- 50,000 annually , based on experience and demonstrated ability.
The position will also include an opportunity for performance-based incentive compensation tied to meaningful store performance and growth goals. Schedule This is a full-time management position. Because Dogtopia provides daycare and boarding seven days a week, flexibility is required. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring strong leadership coverage while building a team capable of independently managing routine daily operations.
