Job Description

UPHOLSTERY REPAIRPERSON - STUDENT TRANSPORTATION

Closing Date The duties include but are not limited to: Removes/replaces seats for repair.

Cuts and fits upholstery materials.

Cuts and fits foam cushions.

Sews by machine all repairs.

Removes and reports all damaged seat frames to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Performs bus inspections as necessary.

Provides damage repair estimates as required.

Accomplishes other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a high school graduate from a regionally accredited school or have a GED equivalent. Must have experience in upholstery repair with good mechanical aptitude. Must be able to carry out all safety requirements and regulations to avoid personal injury and property damage. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have an Alabama Commercial Drivers License and Alabama School Bus Driver's Certificate or obtain within six months of assuming position. Must pass insurability investigation into private and business driving record within any consecutive three-year time frame. Duty Days 260

Salary Range:

From/To Beginning pay - $42,073.00

•Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.
