Full Job Description Job Title:
Laminator Position Summary The Laminator is responsible for independently executing high-pressure laminate (HPL) applications and supporting overall production within the millwork environment. This role demonstrates strong technical ability, consistent quality, and reliability, while contributing to team efficiency and supporting junior team members as needed. Key Responsibilities HPL Lamination & Fabrication Independently apply high-pressure laminate (HPL) materials to substrates including MDF, plywood, and specialty materials. Perform precise cutting, routing, trimming, and finishing of laminated components. Execute both horizontal and vertical laminate applications with consistent quality. Apply adhesives using proper techniques to ensure strong bonds and clean finishes. Read and interpret shop drawings and production documents to complete work accurately. Identify and correct minor defects during fabrication. Quality Control (QC) Support Perform self-inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and specifications. Maintain consistency in seams, edges, adhesion, and overall finish. Flag defects or concerns early and work with senior team members on resolution. Contribute to maintaining overall quality standards within the laminating function. Material Handling & Awareness Assist with material takeoffs and tracking of laminate, substrates, and consumables. Ensure materials are properly staged and available for production. Utilize materials efficiently to minimize waste. Team Support Provide day-to-day support and guidance to junior laminators. Help reinforce proper techniques, workflow, and safety practices. Collaborate with production, woodshop, and project teams to meet deadlines. Woodshop & LED Support (As Required) Perform basic woodshop fabrication tasks including cutting, sanding, and assembly. Operate standard shop tools with confidence and accuracy. Assist with LED integration prep including routing, channel prep, and component placement. Equipment & Maintenance Safely operate lamination and woodshop equipment. Perform basic equipment maintenance and report issues as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in HPL lamination or millwork fabrication. Solid understanding of laminate materials, adhesives, and application techniques. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings. Proficiency with woodworking tools and equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Comfortable standing and working in a production/shop environment for extended periods.
