SMT Solder Tech NTX Embedded - 3.0 Carrollton, TX Job Details Temporary $22 - $30 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications IPC 610 Manufacturing facility experience Attention to detail IPC-610 Certification Manufacturing Full Job Description About the Role NTX Embedded is seeking a detail-oriented Solder Technician for a temporary assignment supporting an active production project. This role requires precision hand-soldering on densely populated circuit boards, including surface-mount components and fine-pitch IC pins. The ideal candidate has steady hands, strong attention to detail, and prior experience working with very small electronic components under magnification. Responsibilities Hand-solder small surface-mount components (SMD/SMT) onto printed circuit boards according to work instructions and IPC standards. Solder fine-pitch IC pins and other small-lead components with precision and consistency. Inspect completed solder joints for quality, identifying and correcting defects such as cold joints, bridging, or insufficient solder. Handle small and delicate components carefully to avoid damage, ESD events, or contamination. Use magnification tools (microscopes or magnifying lamps) and fine-tip soldering irons/equipment as needed. Follow all safety procedures related to soldering and ESD-safe handling practices. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including proper care of tools and equipment. Communicate any quality concerns, material shortages, or process issues to the project lead promptly. Meet daily production and quality targets for the duration of the assignment. Qualifications Prior hands-on experience soldering small surface-mount components and fine-pitch IC packages. Comfortable working under a microscope or magnification for extended periods. Strong fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Familiarity with ESD-safe handling procedures for sensitive electronic components. IPC-A-610 and/or
J-STD-001
certification preferred, but not required. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal work instructions. Reliable attendance for the full duration of the assignment (minimum 15 business days). Prior experience in an electronics manufacturing or prototyping environment is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while performing close, detailed work. Ability to use fine motor skills repetitively throughout the workday. Normal or corrected vision sufficient for magnified close-up work.
