Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Kennel Assistant and play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our animal patients. In this energetic position, you will support daily kennel operations, assist with animal handling, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within our veterinary clinic. Your enthusiasm and dedication will contribute to a positive environment where animals receive compassionate care and clients feel confident in our services. Responsibilities Maintain clean, organized kennels and treatment areas through regular cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitation following aseptic techniques Support animal practices including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring behavior to promote animal welfare Record detailed notes on animal behavior, treatment progress, and care activities to ensure accurate record keeping Have client communication skills and managing patient records with professionalism and empathy Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately to maintain a safe environment for staff and animals during all activities Experience Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience with veterinary clinics or hospitals is highly advantageous Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures is desirable Experience in pet care routines such as feeding, cleaning and record keeping is beneficial Familiarity with equine or large animal handling can be an asset but is not required Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration are essential Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in veterinary animal care while making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners.
