Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint, handling, and care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Support veterinary staff with surgery preparation, aseptic techniques, and post-operative care Administer medications, perform IV insertions, and assist with laboratory testing under supervision Maintain accurate record keeping of patient histories, treatments, and medication administration Conduct animal husbandry tasks including cleaning kennels, cages, and treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards Help with pet care routines such as feeding, bathing, and behavioral assessments to promote animal welfare Communicate effectively with clients at the front desk regarding appointment scheduling, pet care instructions, and follow-up needs Assist with laboratory procedures including sample collection and processing for diagnostic testing Support the team during critical care situations involving animals requiring intensive veterinary attention Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards for staff and animals Skills Proven kennel experience along with veterinary technician or assistant experience in clinical settings Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior for effective support during procedures Experience with animal restraint techniques and handling various species including dogs and equines Skilled in medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic techniques Familiarity with front desk operations such as client communication and record keeping systems Ability to perform thorough cleaning duties while adhering to infection control protocols Laboratory experience including sample collection and processing for diagnostic purposes Strong understanding of animal husbandry practices to promote overall health and well-being Excellent animal handling skills combined with a compassionate approach to pet care Ability to work efficiently under pressure during surgeries or critical care situations Knowledge of veterinary clinic operations including use of PPE and safety procedures Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication to animal health helps improve lives every day.
