Job Description

The Veterinary Room Assistant will provide clinical support to 7 veterinarians working in a high-volume, fast-paced, growing, small-animal private practice in Atascadero, California.
Position Summary:
As a Veterinary Room Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary team by assisting with various tasks in the examination and treatment rooms. You will work alongside veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide top-notch care to our patients. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for animals and want to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures. Prepare examination and treatment rooms for appointments. Handle and restrain animals as needed for procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized. Assist with the administration of medications and treatments. Record and maintain accurate patient records. Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required for the right candidate. Passion for working with animals and a desire to learn. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle and restrain animals in a safe and compassionate manner. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed. Basic computer skills. All shifts available. Weekends and Holidays is a must. Compensation Package for 35+ hour/week: Competitive compensation package including: PTO, sick-time, employee discounts on veterinary care, simple IRA, Health insurance, Dental, Vision, and 5 paid holidays/ year. $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
