The full time position earns paid time off and can be eligible for retirement that is matched at 3% after 1 year of employment. Pay rate starts at $17-19/ hour based on experience. Job Summary:
The veterinary receptionist plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for the clinic. They create a welcoming environment while managing client relations, scheduling appointments, processing payments and maintaining medical records. They are the bridge between clients and medical staff balancing administrative duties with compassionate support
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Communicatiton and Hospitality. Greet clients and pets warmly on arrival; check them in and out efficiently Manage phone and email communication from clients and referring veterinarians Address client questions and concerns with professionalism, empathy, and tact
Scheduling and Practice Flow Scheduling clinic appointments, maintaining accurate records, and scanning documents. Coordinate with clinical team on arrivals, wait times, patient flow, and departures
Finance and Billing Provide basic estimates and explain charges clearly to clients Receive and process payments by cash, check, credit/debit card, text link
Medical Records and Administrative tasks Prepare and enter any previous medical/ vaccination histories provided by client into the animal's file to maintain accurate records Help prepare discharge instructions, vaccine certificates, and any other documents that need to be provided to client.
Working Environment:
Work is performed in an animal shelter with possible exposure to infectious organisms or zoonotic diseases (diseases of animals transmissible to humans), and cleaning chemicals. Daily exposure to high noise levels.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's license or ID
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Customer service skills Knowledge and skills:
Detail oriented
Efficient in computer data entry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to prioritize duties and perform multiple tasks at one time.

Demonstrates courteous and friendly manner towards customers, co-workers and volunteers on a daily and ongoing basis.
Physical Requirements:
Able to perform some physical work: mopping, bending, lifting, and scrubbing.
Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds with assistance.
Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions.
Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand or give information in person or over the telephone.
Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing computers and some hospital equipment.
