Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care for animals in a kennel and clinical environment. This role includes maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kennel, supporting boarding patients, and assisting technicians and doctors with patient care. Veterinary assistant skills are strongly preferred, and a passion for animal health and well-being is essential. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, medicating as directed, and exercising Maintain cleanliness in the kennel and hospital areas, including cages, runs, and common spaces Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff Assist technicians and doctors with patient restraint during exams and treatments Support basic veterinary tasks such as running lab work, filling prescriptions, and preparing samples Perform basic patient care tasks including nail trims, ear cleanings, and expressing anal glands (as trained) Care for boarding patients, ensuring comfort, cleanliness, and appropriate monitoring during their stay Assist with general clinic flow and patient care as needed Ensure all animals receive attentive, compassionate care throughout their stay Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred Veterinary assistant skills strongly preferred (animal restraint, lab work, basic treatments) Knowledge of animal behavior and safe handling techniques Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and extended periods of standing Familiarity with veterinary terminology is a plus Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care and well-being Join our team and help create a safe, clean, and compassionate environment for the pets we serve while growing your skills in veterinary medicine!
