Role:

East-West Animal Hospital LLC is looking for a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team in Lutz, FL! We are a integrative practice offering conventional Western Medicine and Eastern Medicine (TCVM - Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) in a Fear Free Environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments Restrain and handle animals safely and compassionately during exams and procedures Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, sanitary clinical environment Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Collect and process laboratory samples including blood, urine, and fecal specimens Communicate with pet owners regarding post-visit care instructions and follow-ups Maintain accurate patient records and assist with medical documentation

Requirements:

Prior experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or related animal care setting preferred Comfortable handling animals of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments Fear Free Certification is Required- we provide access to the certification. Strong communication skills and a client-friendly, empathetic demeanor Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology, medications, and procedures is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary assistant certification a bonus Must be a reliable team player with a genuine passion for animal welfare
