Equine Veterinary Office & Assistant Wexler Equine Veterinary Services — Ocala, Florida Wexler Equine Veterinary Services is looking for a reliable, organized, and horse-savvy individual to join our team in an office-focused position with occasional light equine technician duties. Wexler Equine Veterinary Services is the horse show veterinarian for the World Equestrian Center (WEC) Ocala hunter/jumper shows, providing veterinary services to the equine athletes competing at the show. This position is primarily administrative, but the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of horses and be comfortable assisting with basic veterinary technician duties when needed. Job Responsibilities Administrative Duties — Primary Role Client billing and invoicing Scheduling appointments and managing the practice calendar Ordering medical and office supplies Answering phones and assisting clients General office organization and administrative support Maintaining accurate client and patient records Occasional Equine Technician Duties Pulling blood samples Holding a plate for X-rays Assisting the veterinarian during routine procedures and appointments Handling and safely restraining horses when needed Other light technician duties as required Ideal Candidate Previous experience working with horses required Veterinary office, equine veterinary, or technician experience is a plus Comfortable handling horses safely Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Comfortable communicating with clients and coworkers Able to work independently and multitask Willing to assist with technician duties when needed This is not a full-time technician position — the majority of the job is administrative/office work. Schedule While the horse show is running: Tuesday-Sunday Outside of horse show: Monday-Friday Schedule may vary based on the horse show calendar and practice needs. Compensation Pay is based on experience and qualifications.
