Job Description
We are now accepting applications to fill a part time Veterinary assistant or technician with weekend and holiday kennel rotation. • A minimum of 1 years of experience is required. • Salary is based on experience. Candidate MUST have Veterinary experience. Our hospital is a canine and feline practice with a strong work ethic and an emphasis on providing our clients and patients with the friendliest, most comprehensive, high quality medical and surgical care possible. Must be able to work in a team environment, be reliable, be a self-starter with strong communication skills and close attention to detail. Applicant MUST be available to work rotating weekend/holiday kennel shifts. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: Blood draw; Catheter placement; Subcutaneous or IM injections Potential prep for surgery, monitor Anesthesia and recover animals from surgery. Laboratory procedures like fecal exam, heartworm tests, microscopy, running bloodwork machines, skin scrapes and ear cytology Feeding and walking animals and cleaning up after them. Weekend and holiday kennel rotation. Stocking, cleaning, laundry, ect. Potential receptionist duties, to include answering phone, speaking with clients, taking payments. Restraining animals for examination or treatment. Communication and clerical duties to help maintain the work environment. Prior knowledge of vaccines, and flea and heartworm preventive Avimark knowledge is a plus but not necessary
